See for yourself

This page runs the same C++ engine as the apps, compiled to WebAssembly. Drop a document below and it is decoded and laid out inside your browser — nothing is uploaded, and the page works with your network switched off.

ODT, ODS, ODP, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, PDF and more — it stays on your device

Powered by @opendocument/odr-core — the renderer is fetched only when you open something.

A reader, not a compromise

Complex formatting, embedded images, tables and charts survive the trip to a small screen — and the parts you actually need on the move are one tap away.

  • Search and highlight

Find a keyword anywhere in the document and see every hit marked in place.

  • Fix a typo on the go

Basic editing for the last correction before you send it — no round trip to a desktop.

  • Password-protected files

Encrypted documents open the same way, with the password never leaving the device.

  • Works offline

Everything is decoded on your device, so a tunnel or a plane changes nothing.

  • Distraction-free reading

Full-screen mode for reading notes on the bus, with the interface out of the way.

  • Read out loud

Text-to-speech reads a document back to you, hands free.

  • Select and copy text

Pull a paragraph out of a document and paste it wherever you need it.

  • Print

Send a document straight to any printer your device can reach.

Opens from wherever your documents already are

Tap an attachment in Gmail, Drive, iCloud, OneDrive, Nextcloud, Dropbox or Box and it opens here. Or browse your device with the built-in file explorer.

Built for ODF. Fluent in the rest.

The Open Document Format is what LibreOffice and OpenOffice write, and it is what this reader was built around. Everything else it learned because you get sent those too.

Privacy

Privacy you don't have to take on trust

A document reader sees everything you open with it — contracts, notes, payslips. This one has nowhere to send any of it: there is no server behind the app, and the code that opens your files is public.

Read the source
  • Nothing is uploaded

Documents are decoded on your device. There is no server to send them to, no account to make, and nothing to delete afterwards.

  • Open source, all of it

The apps, the rendering engine and its bindings are public. Read the code that opens your files, or build it yourself.

  • Made in Austria

A small independent project, not a division of anything. Ads in the free edition pay for the work; the paid edition has none.

Use the engine yourself

The part that reads the documents is a C++ library called OpenDocument.core. It is published for the web and for Python, under the MPL-2.0.

Both apps compile no native code of their own — Android pulls an odr-core-android AAR from Maven Central and iOS a OdrCoreObjC Swift package, so every platform reads documents through exactly the same code.

The engine is maintained in the open and paid for by the apps. If it saves you work, you can sponsor it on GitHub.
